When grooming a pet, it is essential to take into account grooming requirements, coat and skin peculiarities, as well as any health issues. If a pet has severe allergies, sensitive skin, or has not been groomed in a long time, a different product mix will be required to provide the optimum service. General Grooming Instructions
A general protocol for using our products on pets without particular dermatological needs or specialized grooming requirements, is to begin the bathing process with Top Dog Deep Cleaning Shampoo or Groom Pro Degreasing Shampoo for more soiled or ungroomed pets, followed by one of the Top Dog 2 in 1 shampoos or a Top Dog special use shampoo, depending on the type of coat and the desired grooming result.
Application| Savings
Suggestion 1
We recommend using a sponge for better product distribution on the coat and more efficient savings as when the diluted shampoo is directly applied to a completely wet dog, a significant amount of the product ends up in the bathtub rather than on the coat. (NOTE: The sponge must always be disinfected before being used on each pet)
Tip: Use a small basin and dip the sponge into the diluted shampoo. By using the sponge, you trap air in the shampoo and create instant foam, which helps the shampoo distribute evenly on the coat while it is also more cost efficient.
Suggestion 2.
Alternatively, you can use the diluted shampoo on a slightly damp coat to evenly distribute the shampoo and create a rich lather. A slightly wet coat (quick initial wetting of the coat with a little tap water) followed by fully wetting the coat with the diluted shampoo will help keep the product more attached to the coat, resulting in increased lather and, of course, better savings.
